Telephone/Online Counselling Services

As well as offering in office face to face counselling for individuals, couples, families and groups, Sara Dimerman provides telephone/online counselling. If you are not able, or prefer not to attend in office sessions, these may be good options. If you live in the province of Ontario, these sessions would be covered by your extended health insurance plan.

There will be no long distance telephone fees for residents of North America. For online counselling, Sara utilizes a very secure platform that complies with all PHIPA (Personal Health Information Protection Act) regulations. This is provided through OnCall Health.

In Office Counselling Services

Registered Clinical Psychologists, Social Workers and Psychotherapists work with children, adolescents, adults, couples and families who are experiencing various emotional, psychological and/or behavioural difficulties.

In counselling, most therapists help individuals, couples and families with a wide range of issues. Some of the more specialized areas that some of the therapists have experience in include:

  • Divorce and separation issues for children and adults
  • Eating disorders including anorexia, bulimia and binge eating
  • Depression and anxiety
  • Chronic illness/chronic pain
  • Pregnancy and post-partum adjustment issues

Clinical Psychologists conduct standardized assessments for children, adolescents and adults for intellectual strengths and weaknesses, attention deficit and emotional difficulties. These assessments can remain confidential or in regards to students, be shared with school personnel to determine placement in exceptional programs.

The majority of our services are covered by extended health insurance plans.

No Fee Mental Health Services

NEW SERVICE: If you’re living in Western and Northern York Region, have no extended health benefits and your doctor thinks you are experiencing complex social and medical health issues, you may be able to access mental health and other services at no charge. The Vaughan Community Health Centre has created PACT (People Accessing Care Teams) to make this possible.

So, services that are typically paid for will be offered free of charge to those who qualify, when referred by their family physician or Nurse Practitioner.

Sara is proud to be working with VCHC by offering psychological services through PACT to patients in need – in office and online.
